Singing Our Stories
Matt and Abi are a husband and wife, indie/folk, duo who write songs to bring people closer to one another. With every song a story to tell, their music and lyrics invite listeners to find themselves in the narrative and embrace the adventure of becoming better together.
Where They've Been
Matt + Abi have been writing music and singing together in the greater Atlanta area for over 20 years. Their lives and their stories are as close to home as middle-America can get. As the busy, working-parents of two daughters, it’s probably no surprise how they’d become content to only share their music with close friends around a weekend campfire. However, new seasons would bring new perspectives—a new song—and a few stories they knew they needed to share.
In the spring of 2020, when it seemed as if the world was being pulled apart, they began to embrace our human need to remain close like never before. On the back porch of a mountain cabin, a beautiful song was born and a new journey had begun.
A year later, they are excited to share part of their story—a “first chapter” of sorts—through their first release, “I’ll Be With You”. With heart-filled lyrics and a sound that embodies the fresh mountain air, Matt + Abi invite us to join them in the adventure and be inspired to a passion for life, legacy and togetherness with those we love. need we have to remain close, even when the world is being pulled apart. Looking to the Future
We’re heading back into the studio this summer to continue working on our upcoming EP, “Songs for Us”.
“Songs for Us” is a collection of the songs we write and sing for the ones we love to do life with. Our hope is that this project will prompt our listeners to pause and soak in the moments they spend with others; to share their joy, to feel their pain, and experience the strength and adventure of being better together.
